No tears, please

I made French Onion Soup! Before I get into my little story, I just want to say, woo hoo! I get so excited when I make new things. Especially when it's not bad.
Back to the onions:
You would think over time, one may build a tolerance toward raw onions, but I haven't seen any proof of that yet. Rather, instead of getting a tear in my ..root beer.., I appeared to be drowning my sorrows for hours over my single little gas-burner mess of a cooking contraption last night. The process was not without great reward, though.
I got to see the onions in a high pile of lovely shreds:

Morph into a lower mound of onion soupiness:

And finally reach the desired glob of caramelized goodness:


Then, I added other stuff, and wa-la:

A beautiful little cup of French Onion Soup topped with ciabatta croutons and melted gruyere cheese. Lunch= Reward,indeed. :D

  1. Oh, maaaaan! My driveway is still a frozen mess. This is the most tempting French Onion Soup I've ever seen. I hope you have it on the menu again. Hmmm....let me see....how many onions do I have....and where's that cheese? :)
